Lifting the lid on Brazilian stereotypes
What are the stories behind the people, culture and brands often overlooked in our perceptions of Brazil, and Brazilian-ness?
We celebrated our launch in São Paulo by posing this question, and alongside a panel of multidisciplinary experts, explored some emerging narratives about Brazil, and the implications these have for brands, marketers and advertisers. Our panel of experts included Thiago de Moraes, Brazilian Illustrator and advertising creative, Fernando Duarte, UK-based Brazilian journalist with over 10 years experience in the media industry, and Alex Bellos, British writer, broadcaster and author of books about Brazil and mathematics
We also produced a take-away semiotics provocation, highlighting the residual, dominant and emergent ways of understanding Brazilian-ness from abroad
